A rich American industrialist gives Tom Ripley the task of bringing his son Philippe home. However, when Tom discovers Philippe in Italy enjoying himself with his mistress Marge Duval and with no intention of returning to the USA, he joins the party, living off their wits and Philippe’s money. Their relationship turns sour when Tom is humiliated by Philippe and driven up the wall by his friend’s father, causing a terrible and scandalous crime to be committed. Buried in a web of deceptions and busy with seducing Philippe’s mistress, Tom is struggling to hold things together, will there be another crime committed?
